Public Building Staircase

Ethical Challenges in Public Affairs | Ethics Audit Final Paper

For my Ethical Challenges in Public Affairs course, I conducted an ethics audit of the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), a prominent nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting veterans. The audit focused on assessing the ethical challenges the organization faced, particularly related to financial management, transparency, and organizational culture. I explored the controversy surrounding WWP’s spending practices and how it affected its reputation, donor trust, and public image. Using ethical frameworks such as utilitarianism and deontology, I evaluated the decision-making processes within the organization and proposed recommendations for improving ethical standards. The paper also examined the broader implications of ethical lapses for nonprofits, particularly those relying on donations and public trust. This project enhanced my understanding of the importance of accountability and transparency in public affairs and nonprofit management, highlighting how ethical leadership is crucial to maintaining stakeholder confidence and fulfilling organizational missions.

Health Systems & Policy | Final Paper Presentation

For my Health Systems & Policy course final project, I researched and presented a comprehensive policy analysis on addressing the issue of high prescription drug costs in the United States. The project focused on evaluating the current state of prescription drug pricing, its impact on healthcare access, and the financial strain it places on both individuals and the healthcare system. I proposed several policy reforms, including enhanced price transparency, government negotiation of drug prices, and changes to insurance coverage policies, all aimed at reducing costs and improving access to essential medications. This project allowed me to apply critical thinking and policy analysis skills to a pressing healthcare issue while offering actionable solutions that could be used by policymakers and healthcare organizations to improve patient outcomes and the sustainability of the healthcare system.
